Giveaway Winner!
I hosted a little giveaway last week for THE GIRL WHO CIRCUMNAVIGATED FAIRYLAND IN A SHIP OF HER OWN MAKING by Catherynne M Valente. This book is so imaginative and rich and full of some of the most beautiful writing I have devoured in quite some time. I shared some of my favorite quotes and asked you to tell me which was your favorite. Alyson Greene, who Random.org selected as the winner, loved this quote best:
Hats change everything. September knew this with all her being…For one day, her father had put on a hat with golden things on it and suddenly he hadn’t been her father anymore, he had been a soldier, and he had left. Hats have power. Hats can change you into someone else.
So congrats, Alyson! I will drop you a line via email so that I can get your address and send this enchanting story your way! To everyone else, thank you for entering and swooning over these quotes with me. I highly recommend buying a copy of this tale for your bookshelf. Or at least swing by your local library to borrow a copy. If they don’t have it, request it! The book gives a lot of love to librarians, and I think any library would be happy to have this among their stacks!
Sneak Peek!
Over the weekend, Lenore Appelhans posted an interview with me on her blog for part of Dystopian August. For those of you unfamiliar with this event, Lenore is putting the spotlight on dystopian and dystopian-esque reads all month long. I was thrilled when she asked me to participate, one, because I love dishing about this genre, and two, because I was so excited to share a bit more info about my upcoming debut with you all!
Read the interview and get a sneak peek at THE LAICOS PROJECT right here.
My book’s “to-read” numbers have spiked on goodreads since the interview went up, so a huge thank you to everyone who added it! And thanks again, to Lenore, for thinking of me. If you haven’t added LAICOS to your goodreads yet, you could always go do it now. *nudge, nudge*
