About a year and a half ago, I had a finished manuscript and a crazy idea that included pursuing publication. I didn’t have a critique partner or an agent, I’d never written a query letter, and I had absolutely no clue what it meant to “be on sub.”*
We’re all clueless at the beginning of this journey and we all start learning the ropes somewhere. I started online. I started by reading every single resource I could find. Tweets. Blog posts. Discussion forums. One of the blogs I frequented, silently lurking in the background and never writing a single comment, was Let The Words Flow.**
If you are a follower of Let The Words Flow, you know that the girls recently announced the end of that blogging venture. It was a bittersweet milestone for them, but they were looking to rebuild the site and take things to the next level. The decided to launch a new blogging endeavor in January, cleverly named Pub(lishing) Crawl!
Well guess what? It’s January. Pub Crawl went live yesterday and it looks fantastic!
And today’s post introduces their newest member: yours truly!
I can’t tell you how thrilled and honored and excited and downright giddy I am to be a part of this group. The writers and industry professional that make up Pub Crawl are truthfully some of the loveliest people I know. I’m so, so happy Sarah Maas sent me an email a few months ago inviting me to be a part of this venture.
So what does that mean for this blog? Nothing! Like always, I’ll continue to post here as inspiration hits. (This is a nice way of saying I will continue to post randomly, without a concrete schedule.)
Over on Publishing Crawl, you can expect to find me blogging about once a month. Any time I post there, I’ll be sure to mention it here (so that you aren’t left out of the loop), but I encourage you to subscribe to the Pub Crawl via your rss reader of choice so you don’t miss out on any of the posts. There are a handful of brilliant minds blogging over there, not to mention we are holding a giveaway every single day in January to celebrate our launch! That’s a lot of amazing books up for grabs!
I hope to see some of you over on Pub Crawl! Stop by and read my intro interview! Leave me some comments! Like always, I’ll try my hardest to respond to every last one.
* It sounded like a writer riding a submarine, but I was wise enough to know, even back then, that this could not possibly be the case.
**I specifically remember this blog post by Susan Dennard helping me juggle multiple offers of representation during my querying process. I never said it Susan, but THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
