The Fourth has come and gone. I had a fabulous holiday weekend up in the Adirondacks with the Engineer and some of my family. It consisted mostly of sun and reading and swimming off the boat. There was also beer and grilling and sparklers, in typical Independence Day fashion. It was really quite lovely.
Raquette Lake is seriously one of the most gorgeous lakes I have ever been to. Most of the shoreline is state-owned forest, so when you take the boat on the water, throw out the anchor, and jump in, you feel completely surrounded by nature. The water was COLD, though. I managed to get in a handful of times during my four day weekend, but it was definitely more “refreshing” than it was “pleasant.”
Anyway, I am now back in the swing of things. It is time to really buckle down and whip LAICOS into shape. I’ve had a fabulous chat with Editor Erica. I’ve scribbled down a million notes. I’ve mulled things over for days on end. It’s time to make it happen.
So today I trade this:

Today marks my first day as a part-time employee at the day job. Thursdays through Sundays are now dedicated to revising. If you need me, I’ll be in my Revision Cave until mid-August.
I can do this, I can do this, icandothis!
